Established in 1973, the Roots Brand has stood the test of time. United by a friendship born at a summer camp in Canada and inspired by the rugged beauty of Algonquin Park, our founders, Michael Budman and Don Green, set out to create a brand that captures the essence of the Canadian wilderness. From our first store in Toronto and the launch of our negative heel shoe, we have become an iconic Canadian brand with a rich heritage and portfolio of premium apparel, leather goods, accessories and footwear products. While the world around us has changed immeasurably, we have never strayed from the guiding principles that govern our brand. While our original inspiration was the great Canadian outdoors, today we are an inclusive lifestyle brand for those who want to enjoy the moment and embrace the spirit of the open air. We are the brand of choice for a broad cross section of global consumers including young professionals, families across generations, athletes and entertainment icons. For almost five decades, people have been drawn to Roots timeless style, comfort, versatility and quality of our products and the stories and experiences that have shaped our brand. While Canada will always be at the heart and soul of our business, the brand values and world class products transcend international borders.

Our relentless focus on the consumer inspires design and is supported by a global sourcing network, best-in-class Canadian leather manufacturing and a proven distribution framework to deliver premium products in a timely and efficient manner. Our products are sold through an integrated omni-channel footprint with more than 110 corporate stores in Canada and the U.S., along with a global e-commerce platform that ships to more than 18 countries.

Building on the affinity for Canadian products and learnings from our successes in Taiwan and China, we plan to seek best-in-class retail partners to export and localize our proven retail model in new markets around the world. In addition to leveraging our United Brand Range to address seasonal difference, we have developed a comprehensive go-to market toolkit to attract and support new international partners. We have identified significant regional opportunities in major international markets and we are actively evaluating entering a number of new regions in the next three fiscal years.
